For many years De MOEREN were flooded and  marshland was all over it.
Today it is an agricultural piece of land in the western part of Belgium.
De Moeren belong to the local authority of Veurne in the West Flanders.

The village is build on  unwatered grounds which reach beyond the French border
( Les Moëres ) and has a population of about a hundred inhabitants, mainly farmers.
